G in between Poor Fran and Emma are plopped in the middle of it all with no one to watch out for them except a passel of cowboys with hearts of gold What a tough row for a heroine to hoeThe biggest and brawniest and stubbornest is Edgar the hapless bronco who snags inconvenient wife Fran And the fun really starts when she promptly stampedes her way into his heart though he s loathe to admit it A delicious romance with plenty of action My thanks to the publisher and Net Galley for my review copy of this book I never would have imagined I d give a Love Inspired book 5 stars but here we areThe GoodI was pleasantly surprised The characters were all varied and likable despite their flaws I really liked Edgar his name is wonderful I connected with Fran a lot throughout the story She certainly has struggles than I but there were certain uncertainties she dealt with that I deal with sometimes as wellThere was a good bit of action and danger which also was a surprise I was expecting a syrupy sweet love story but that s not what I got It was real and emotionalThe BadI m not a big fan of The Misunderstanding trope in Christian fiction It s overused and incredibly frustrating There s a difference between a misunderstanding and someone being too blind andor arrogant to accept the truth My only ualm with this book is the fact that Edgar flew off the handle because Fran held something back from her past I m not sure why every heroher Fran the girl on the run and Edgar the man with a stick up his butt Sounds sexy right But he is redeemable and that s the whole pointFran and her sister Emma have had than their fair share of bad luck and are now on the run from a wealthy erk who wants Emma The one lie she told to help them escape comes back to haunt her and brands her as a liar in Edgar s eyes Edgar had changed from a carefree boy to an overly serious man who avoids women like the plague But stuff happens and they end up married But ust til they can get an annulment rightAll this while driving cattle to a buyer on a tight deadline and being chased by the bad guy s minionsEdgar was hard I ended up really enjoying this one I didn t realize there were other books in the series but I thought this one stood on its own really well I enjoyed it so much I want to go back and read the other books in the series Fran and Emma are on the run The hopped on an orphan train and when the train derails in Bear Creek they are found out That s where her life collides with Edgar White changing both of their lives foreverI liked Fran uite a bit She was very mature for her nineteen years She is fiercely loyal and protective of her younger sister Emma She adapts well to her circumstances and stands her ground I like that she wasn t a complainer and also that she sees the good in Edgar I liked Edgar uite a bit although I didn t really care for his name It ust didn t match him at all IMO Anyway even though he has a loving family he had a rough childhood and has a difficult time trusting women Since he meets Fran under unusual circumstances it takes him awhile to warm up to her despite their mutual attraction He is loyal to his family although he does like to micro manage his younger bothers a little Even though he s gruff he has a kind heart and I ust liked him The romance was nice moved along believably and they had good chemistry There is a little suspense but it didn t overwhelm the story I liked how everything played out and thought it was enjoyable and well written It s one I d recommend to anyone who enjoys westernfrontier stories ContentRomance Sueaky clean Violence Mild view spoilerEmma was attacked by Mr Underhill and that is why they are on the run He is chasing after them and wants to get her back No details and it sounds like it was interrupted before anything really happened hide spoiler. Can't leave Fran and her sister in danger And as they work on the trail together Edgar starts to soften toward his unwanted wife He already gave Fran his namecan he trust her with his heart Wyoming Legacy United by family destined for lov.
A reluctant but gallant hero and a runaway determined to protect her sister collide in a touching story set in the hills of Wyoming Edgar has one goal get his father s cattle to their buyer by the appointed date He planned for ust about everything except an unexpected marriage Fran will do anything to protect her sister from the madman chasing them Edgar and Fran battle against henchmen Mother Nature time and one another in a tale that will tug at your heart and leave you wanting Lacy Williams has penned another great western romance that will stay in your heart and mind for a long while 4 STARSThe setting is Wyoming late spring 1900A train carrying orphans is derailed Fran Morris lied about her age and was found out The Neimhaim (Neimhaim, judge couldn t let herust leave with her younger sisterEdgar White married her instead of letting her go to saloon or his younger brother marry herEdgar was a orphan on a train years ago too His father took him in plus others Edgar feels he owes his father everything while he is gone Edgar was in charge getting the cattle to the buyer With the train derailed he and his brothers decide to trail drive them Fran and Emma sneak into the wagonFran is only 19 but passes as younger She is very protective of her sister She has a lot of faith that her prayers are answered Her parents have died and her brother has disappeared She pretended to be younger so they could go on the orphan trainEmma is fifteen She has become fragile A older richer man has become obsessed with her and tried some things with her His men have even come out west looking for her She is scared and shyYou have to admire Fran she is smart full of faith and a hard worker Yes she passed herself off younger that was the only way she had to get her sister away She even agreed to marry EdgarThis is a good story I have only read now two books in this series but would read the rest of it some time It does mention faith prayers and scriptures It fits well into the story It is full of drama action and good dialogueI was given this ebook to read for purpose of writing an honest review of The Wrangler s Inconvenient Wife received the book through Net Galley and Harleuin The Wyoming Legacy series is such a great set of stories I really enjoyed The Wrangler s Inconvenient Wife I felt an immediate connection with both of the main characters I loved the situation that Fran and Edgar found themselves in married to each other but with distrust hanging in the air between themI really liked Edgar even with the distrust he had for Fran He had a good heart Divine ecstasy, the story of Khajuraho just a wounded one and I loved watching his transformation throughout the story Fran was a great character too She had such a protective and caring nature I was impressed with her behavior throughout the story as well as her work ethicI listened to this book as an audio book from Audible and it was such a good reading The narrator did a greatob in the telling of the story I enjoyed it so much that I ended up staying up very late on one night listening because I wanted to know what happened nextI definitely recommend this book whether in page form or audio bookI received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest reviewYou can read this review on my blog at Originally posted HEREThis is definitely the best Inspirational Christian book I ve read It wasn t perfect and the relationship moved very very fast but with the nonstop action and the very few references to religion I am not a religious person I really enjoyed it I m not a big reader of books set in America s Wild West but this one worked for me better than most I ve triedI was a bit hesitant about it at first because there re a lot of characters and they re all introduced within the first few pages Books in this line have short word counts and I was worried by how many people MARRIAGE OF INCONVENIENCE With no family to watch over them it's up to Fran Morris to take care of her younger sister even if it means marrying a total stranger Gruff strong and silent her new husband is a cowboy down to the bone He wed Fr.
Was going to have to try and care aboutHowever this was a minor problem I didn t try too hard to remember all the secondary characters I m guessing there are a lot of future heroes for the series amongst them and then that was thatWhat I enjoyed was the way this was almost like a well written suspense story One where the danger is always there in some capacity always at the back of the characters minds The fact the entire story takes place as the characters are driving cattle across the countryside means there s always something happening something to learnAs I said I really appreciated not having the religion shoved in my face In fact twice I went online to check I was reading a so called Christian book because it wasn t at all preachy I actually think it s a pity this author is writing to such a limited mainly American Protestant audience when this book could easily work for mainstream readersYes the characters fell in love very fast but I m learning this is a defining feature of Western historical romance and have been trying to adjust my expectations accordinglyI Carrying the Greeks Heir just generally enjoyed this book I m pleased to discover Christian books aren t always what I expect them to be Review copy provided by NetGalley DNF at page 196 out of 278 So over halfway done and I feel I have read enough to rate and review this book Typical Western historical romance convenient marriage trope Also younger sister of wife and wife in danger trope And my favorite not telling the full story to those who could help you trope Like seriously Just tell the TRUTH ASAP and it ll save the readers from eye roll strain SheeshAlso supposed to be a Love Inspired but God barely has a mention let alone a cameo He s prayed to out of desperation a few times and a character thinks that the Bible had a verse that said something like her thought But no chapter no verse No book even So fail on weaving a romance plot line with God throughout it The romance plot itself was pretty vanilla and the lack of proper communication while necessary to move the plot along was annoying in the extreme I understand the MCs are young but that doesn t have to mean dumb or immature Maybe I m too old and bitter for these types of stories now I used to like to read romances but maybe Iust need to move on and let others enjoy them without my two cents and 2 starred reviews TRIGGER WARNING involving slight SPOILER followsIf you like the typical Western romance with ust a few kisses here and there but WARNING and SPOILER attempted rape is mentioned and the sisters are running from a rich crazy man who wants the 15 year old eeeeeewwww then you might enjoy this one I did not The IdeaI really liked this book It s about Edgar and Fran who fall into a marriage of inconvenience Edgar marries her to ensure that she and her younger sister are safe However he never intended to get married He and Fran work on the trail together and start to grow close The CharactersFran is a young woman who will do anything and everything to get her little sister Emma to safety She was admirable in her selflessness to protect her sister Edgar has not trusted women after he was abandoned by his mother at a young age He planned to never marry but he finds himself with a wife in this book I liked the characters The PlotThis was a short and sweet book perfect for the summer I really enjoyed it The plot was somewhat predictable but I certainly enjoyed it nonetheless The SettingI really liked the setting of rural Wyoming It was perfect for the story and I tend to like western stories OverallA lovely book This is the third in the Wyoming Legacy series and I can t believe I missed the first two What an awesome read There s danger lurking from all sides in this wild west tale Talk about adventure From wild critters to vermin of the human kind and everythin. An to protect her not to love her but her heart has never felt so vulnerable Trail boss Edgar White already has all the responsibility he needs at his family's ranch in Bear Creek Wyoming He had intended to remain a bachelor forever but he.
